I now have the ability to take credit/debit card payments on-site for any rides or merchandise you wish to purchase. In addition, you can now purchase an in-cockpit or on-wing video of your flight. Just let us know of your desire to video the flight prior to arrival and we can get the equipment installed.
I'll be taking reservations for the upcoming 2011 season within the next few weeks, so please drop me an email if you are interested in flying this year.
I'm also looking into being able to accept credit card payments online, and hopefully at the point of sale during the day of the flight.
Look for some new merchandise to be added this year, as well as some more exciting video options to take your memories home with you after the flight.
Blue Skies & Tailwinds!
I just returned from a 7 day adventure to Antique Airfield in Blakesburg, IA for the annual Antique Airplane Association fly-in.
N5000V and I flew over 1900 statute miles, spent 20 hours in the cockpit, burned 427 gallons of 100LL and upon our return were notified we won the Sweepstakes Grand Champion Warbird trophy.
High FlightOh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod The high untresspassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Vintage Aviation is dedicated to preserving the history and memory of what most aviation historians agree on was the “Golden Era” of aviation – powered flight between the decades of the 1930’s and 1940’s.
Our Western Colorado based operation keeps the memory of open-cockpit biplane flight alive by offering scenic flights in our newly restored WWII era 1942 Boeing Stearman aircraft throughout most months of the year.
We also offer restoration seminars, and historical presentations, to schools and educators throughout the area.
Vintage Aviation is dedicated to keeping these old airplanes and their colorful history alive for future generations.
Vintage Aviation offers you the chance to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly in an immaculately restored WWII era biplane. We promise that your adventure will be one you treasure for many years to come. From the time you strap in until the time you step out of the cockpit – it will always be 1942 while spending your time with us!
Are you struggling for gift ideas for Christmas, Birthdays etc? How about the perfect gift for the person who has everything - or for that World War II buff in your family?
Vintage Aviation can make dreams come true, and we offer gift packages that you can surprise your loved ones with that include beautiful pictures of the Stearman and instructions on how to schedule the rides.
Vintage Aviation offers you this taste of priceless history - while viewing the magnificent Grand Valley in a way you've never experienced before.
From the time you arrive at the airport to the time you land, you'll be re-living history in a way that few will ever experience - and Vintage Aviation makes sure that your experience will be as authentic as possible.
- You will take part in a pre-flight inspection; the history of the aircraft will be a highlight of your tour.
- After being strapped into the front cockpit, you will don a cloth flying helmet and goggles. Your pilot will talk to you on the intercom while taxiing and throughout the flight to make sure you understand what is happening throughout each stage of flight, and to ensure that you are having a great experience.
- Once on the runway, your pilot will advance the throttle and you'll soon be experiencing what it was like to fly during the 1930's and 1940's! As you accelerate down the runway, the tail of the aircraft will lift, and you will enjoy the thrill of one of the greatest adventures of your life!
At Vintage Aviation, we pride ourselves on professionalism and perfection.
